(Sale + Recipe) Asahi Calpico


Just like the Jurokucha in the last blog post, we have started a sale for Calpico on six-packs as well. Each comes in a clear bag with its own logo, and the bags are perfect for the beach or other summer outings.


Calpico is a refreshing drink with a fresh flavor created from freshly squeezed Japanese milk and the fermentation of lactic acid bacteria, which is also found in yogurt and other foods that aid digestion, and yeast that have been passed down for 100 years. (Recipe) Shaking Calpico Jelly

This is a recipe for jelly that can be made in a Calpico bottle. Powdered gelatin makes this dessert easy to make and it also looks beautiful. It is fun to make jelly in multiple flavors and share with your family and friends.


Ingredients (4 servings):

1 Calpico bottle (16.9 fl. oz./500 ml) of your favorite flavor

0.35 oz./10 g of powdered gelatin

5.3 oz./150 g kiwi fruit or other fruits of your choice as topping


Directions:

1. Transfer about 1/3 of the Calpico in the bottle to a heatproof container, add the powdered gelatin and mix well.

2. Cover with plastic wrap and microwave at 1000 W for 20 seconds to dissolve the gelatin powder.


3. Return what you prepared in step 2 to the bottle.


4. Close the lid and shake up and down to mix well. Refrigerate for 2 hours to harden, then serve on a plate and garnish with your favorite fruit etc. Enjoy!


Tip:

Jelly can be made with 0.35 oz./10 g of powdered gelatin to 16.9 fl. oz./500 ml of liquid. Try it with various drinks.


Kanten Papa, Ina Agar A


We carry powdered kanten agar, if you do not have gelatine. If you use it, make sure to change the amount to 0.14 oz./4 g to 16.9 fl. oz./500 ml of liquid, or read the directions inside the package.
